This beautiful set of agricultural terraces, long stairways and stone carved channels is located about 20 km southwest of the city (approximately 45 minutes). According to legends, Tipón is one of the royal gardens that Wiracocha ordered to build. It is made up of twelve terraces flanked by perfectly polished stone walls and huge platforms, these are quite large and as it rises, they decrease in size, in addition to ornamental canals and waterfalls.
PIQUILLACTA .: It is a huge architectural complex limited in its east by the left bank of the Vilcanota River and in its western part with the population of Lucre. The complex includes the city of Pikillaqta plus another 23 associated sets for proximity and functionality, it contains the historic Wakarpay lagoon or Muyna, with a suggestive landscape considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Pikillaqta was built during the height of the Wari culture 500 or 900 AD. This large urban and ceremonial center, almost 2 km long, is made up of a citadel surrounded by embankments and walls of up to 7m. Tall. There are numerous deposits, quarries or barns and in almost all the constructions small stones connected with mud have been used. In some enclosures small idols in turquoise were found that are exhibited in the Inca museum. Pikillaqta rises like a massive set of stone structures concentrated on a hill overlooking the beautiful Lucre lagoon. Pikillaqta or city of fleas, is perhaps the largest pre-Inca city in the region and its name derives from the presence of numerous enclosures of only 4 square meters which apparently were part of a military garrison.
