The Gold Museum Lima has as its official name the Museum "Gold of Peru" and "Weapons of the World" and was created by Miguel Mujica Gallo, a renowned businessman from Lima and a passionate collector.

The ancient Peruvians worked metals masterfully. The procedure "CIRE PERDUE" (lost wax), known in the East and disappeared in the West until the time of the Renaissance, was the most used by these magnificent Peruvian goldsmiths.
Our excursion to the ORO DEL PERU MUSEUM allows us to appreciate a dazzling collection of gold pieces from various pre-Columbian cultures, some with more than 3,000 years old. Objects and jewels of incalculable goldsmiths are exhibited, worked in gold, silver and precious stones, highlighting the ornaments and objects that in their time of splendor were used by the Incas, children of the Sun God and monarchs of the vast Inca Empire. Peru's gold fame attracted numerous European adventurers 500 years ago and was the cause of the end of the empire
of the Incas, giving rise to the Viceroyalty of Peru of the Spanish Crown.
The Gold Museum of Peru, also exhibits a valuable collection of ancient and modern weapons that are considered one of the best of its kind worldwide. In these rooms armor, uniforms and objects of various times and places are shown, even some dating to 1,300 years B.C. This sample is known as the Weapons of the World Museum.
