Second day:
Early wake up to observe the fascinating mating ritual dance of the Gallito de las Rocas (Rupicola peruviana), national bird of Peru, pinches its vibrant reddish orange feathers. After breakfast we continue our bus trip through the high jungle finally arriving in the city Pilcopata (*).
After arriving at the port of Atalaya (700 m.a.s.l) along the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River in order to board our motorized boat.
Once all the appropriate equipment is loaded on the ship, we begin to lower flow seeing the great diversity of bird species, such as herons, vultures, cormorants. We stop at a small lake to observe alligators, hoatzins (pre-historic birds) and then arrive at our Erika Private Reserve for the night.
